Interactive 3D Earth

This project visualizes Earth as an interactive three-dimensional model based on real-world geospatial data. The globe geometry is derived from the NOAA ETOPO 2022 elevation model and rendered using a high-resolution NASA Blue Marble texture.

Project Description

Elevation data is processed using Python and converted into a high-resolution 3D mesh. The model contains millions of vertices and triangles and represents mountain ranges, ocean trenches, continental shelves and other geographic structures. Rendering is performed directly in the browser using Three.js and WebGL.
